VineWall ("us", "we", or "our") operates the VineWall application (hereinafter referred to as the "Service").
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. About VineWall VPN
VineWall uses Apple's Network Extension framework to implement local VPN functionality. This allows the app to act as a local proxy, intercepting and slowing network requests for apps you select.
- Operates as a local VPN on your device only
- Does not connect to any remote VPN servers
- Purpose: Slows down network traffic to reduce doomscrolling
- All traffic processing happens locally on your device
2. Data Collection & Usage
2.1 Analytics
We never intercept, store, or process the contents of your device network traffic on our servers.
VineWall collects a limited amount of anonymous analytics data to understand how the app is used and to detect problems.
You can see what analytics data we send by tapping the gear icon inside the app and opening "Data collection", where the events and fields are explained in plain language.
Some of this data could be sensitive, for example IP addresses, the domains you visit, or the identifiers of the apps you choose to slow down. These values are hashed on your device before being sent, using a secret stored in your device Keychain. The original values cannot be recovered from the hashed data, and we do not transmit the secret.
Analytics data is sent to infrastructure operated by us. We do not sell or share it, and we do not use it for advertising.
2.2 In-App Feedback
The in-app feedback form lets you send us a message, optionally with diagnostic files attached. Feedback is processed as analytics data and is subject to the same protections.
Diagnostic files may contain sensitive values, such as those described above. These values are hashed on your device, using the same approach, before the file is sent.
Feedback cannot be linked to your regular analytics. Both are hashed on your device, but with independent secrets, so values that appear in feedback cannot be matched against values from regular analytics.
2.3 Retention
We do not keep analytics data longer than necessary, individual events are deleted within 30 days. Aggregated data derived from them, for example daily user counts, may be stored indefinitely.
3. Third-Party Services
We employ third-party services to facilitate our Service.
3.1 DNS
VineWall uses DNS over HTTPS (DoH) for secure domain resolution. By default, we use Cloudflare's DNS service (1.1.1.1). You can change this to any DoH provider of your choice in the app settings.

3.2 Payments
Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple handles all billing according to their privacy policy.

4. Links To Other Sites
Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
5. Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
